Unk is back at it with White River if you’re in Indy tonight you should hit it.
Also the Florsheim by Duckie Brown pop up is still running. To some heads, mentioning this will inevitably invoke thoughts of gold wingtips and red suede lace ups. If you need a sensible pair of shoes and want Tricker’s & Church’s, but can barely afford Grenson & Allen Edmond, then I would highly recommend stopping by. They just got the lease extended, but who knows how long that will last.
Also I know people are getting a case of Tsunami fundraising fatigue. I like Jeff Staple’s take on it.Tragedy aside Muro & Large P for a measly $10. Rich Medina, Neil Armstrong, Just Blaze for $20. Can that be my silver lining? If you’re in NYC Saturday night it can be yours, even if you weren’t necessarily trying to do good.
Last but not least, today is the last day or so for Jose Parla at Bryce Wolkowitz. If you’re in the area you should try to peep it.
One genre of blog posts I despise is the “apology for not posting in a while post”. Yet this is what I’m doing now. I’ll take solace that I’ve even seen the back to back to back apology post. Brooklyn looks like a laundry machine through my window today. Here’s a quote from the Economist a little while ago (Mar 5-11th p.18): “Property’s grip on people is unrenlenting. After the worst housing crash in memory, almost two thirds of Americans still think that property is till a safe investment.” Often I fear that my fellow citizens have become inflexible in our thinking. Some Bruce Lee might be the remedy. Anyway glad to be back. Hope to see you soon.
